Lowincome housing project in Minot ND in question

Minot City Council members are delaying any decisions about a proposed 72-unit low-income housing project at the request of some of the project’s neighbors.

The Minot Daily News reports that neighborhood concerns include possible increases in traffic and crime and a potential decline in property values.

The proposed site is zoned for an apartment building. The Idaho-based nonprofit Community Development Inc. wants the city to back its request to the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency for tax credits.
