Spokane Valley Church faced off against some angry neighbors at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting.
The battle surrounds controversial church plans to build low income housing for seniors in the 500 block of North Walnut Road.
“It’s going to change our neighborhood with totally different people going up and down our street,” said one concerned citizen during a public comment period.
“My disabled daughter and I have rights as citizens too. I am a tax payer and this should stand for something,” added another concerned mother.
Saint John Vianney Catholic Church purchased a one-acre, adjacent lot almost two years ago with plans to build affordable housing for seniors.
