[Commentary – this is from the opposition to a public housing project]

Opposition to the Pending Horizons Apartment Conversion by the HACFM

To begin, it should be made clear we are not debating the merits of social welfare nor public housing. We understand the need for low-income housing and support it, but we cannot allow Tanglewood Elementary School to be placed at risk in the name of it.

Who We Are:

33919 United is a group representing the Tanglewood and Whiskey Creek communities that is vehemently opposed to the ongoing conversion of the Horizons Apartment complex, which lies directly adjacent to our Tanglewood Elementary School (See attached map) to low-income public housing(1) by the Housing Authority of the City of Ft Myers (HACFM).
