Judge Orders Occupancy, Threatens Fines In St. Bernard Housing Battle – New Orleans News Story – WDSU New Orleans

A federal judge in New Orleans has given what could be the final order in the long-running battle between St. Bernard Parish and a company planning to open several mixed-income housing developments.

District Court Judge Ginger Berrigan on Thursday directed the parish to issue final occupancy permits by 10 a.m. on Friday or pay a fine of $50,000 per day for failure to comply with the order.
